En février 1945 à Paris, un homme se rend chez la femme de son ami pour lui annoncer la mort de son mari par les nazis. Un clochard, qui se présente comme étant le Destin, annonce à ce jeune qu'il va rencontrer, dans les heures à venir, "la plus belle fille au monde".

In February 1945 in Paris, a man pays visit to his friend's wife to tell her some sad news. A tramp, who introduces himself as Destiny, announces to this fellow that he will meet, in the hours to come, "the most beautiful girl in the world".
